It would seem as though Holden are great at pulling codes but not as good at diagnosing theses codes. Hope the new design is more robust, I would hate to have it play up in the middle of nowhere The replacement was a differnt shape - sort of longer - than the original. It seemed to play up at random, would work fine for a couple of weeks and then play up several times in a dayĪnyway, My Isuzu dealer pulled the check codes and got authority from Isuzu to replace the regulator under waranty - the service manager had a pile of boxes of faulty ones on his desk, about 8-9 he had replaced in the previous couple of months. I had the same issue with my 09 model D-Max at around the 65,000k mark - the limp mode is a real pain, especially when it chimed in on a wet day in heavey traffic.
looking at the new holden filter and the 9000 odd km one it shows us what the quality of our fuel is like. maybe its this float that is allowing water to go further down the fuel lines to damage other componants like fuel pressure regulators etc. I have seen this in other peoples poorly serviced trucks but i didnt expect this in mine as i change my fuel filter twice as often as holden say to do. so much so the float that turns the water in the fuel light on was seized from too much crap.
RC FUEL PUMP PRESSURE SHUTOFF FULL
This time just after 9000kms and as normal it was full of crap and a lot of water. I have been told if you damage an injector they are $1500 each.Ouch I have the car serviced regularly and one fuel filter had suffered a lot of contamination. The cause of my issue may have been some bad fuel, as I have also replaced the in tank fuel pump. This time it logged the fault which was the above part.Īpparently the old one has a smaller bleed hole and got blocked easily? The improved version will not do this? One can only hope I got into town where it happened just down from the Holden dealer and I was able to limp in to get it checked. This time the engine lost power at highway cruise and as I was slowing down the check engine light came on, it took a while but it fired up. It soon came good and the check engine light did not stay on for long. It happened again just as i was parking up one night and the following morning took a couple of attempts to start it. The engine light was out the next morning when I started up. After a few attempts it fired up and no more issues. The engine changes tone (rattles more and you can only get 1500rom max) and acceleration is not possible. The part in the limelight is Fuel Pressure Regulator (Part # 898145450 priced at $157.60)įirst in the Simpson while in a bog the engine went into limp mode and the check engine light came on. Holden said they had an issue with this part and it got modified for the latter models. I have put 103000k on the 2007 Rodeo now and have had a fuel issue on 3 occasions. This post is to all that may be looking into this type of issue.
